I'm Derek. UESCA Certified Run Coach, marathon runner, dad to a two-year-old, metalhead, lifter. My training happens at 4am before anyone wakes up, during lunch, or squeezed into whatever window I can find. I know what it's like to have a race on the calendar and a toddler who didn't sleep.
Most parents blow up at mile 20 because the plan they were following didn't account for any of the real stuff. The missed weeks. The inconsistent months. The fact that you're not a full-time athlete. I build plans that work inside that reality.
I also build a custom playlist for every athlete I work with. Because I've been on enough long runs to know that the right song at mile 17 does something a training plan can't. Every phase gets music built for it. Easy, tempo, long, race day. The plan and the playlist. That's what this is. 🤘

All coaching services are delivered and administered through the TeamRunRun platform. By enrolling in any coaching program, you agree to TeamRunRun's Terms of Service and athlete agreement in addition to the terms stated here. Beyond Threshold Running provides individualized run coaching for recreational athletes preparing for half marathon and full marathon distances. Services include customized training plans, performance guidance, communication support, and general fueling strategy. Services do not include medical treatment, physical therapy, injury rehabilitation, clinical nutrition counseling, or any other licensed healthcare service.
Distance running and endurance training carry inherent physical risks including but not limited to musculoskeletal injury, cardiovascular stress, exhaustion, dehydration, and illness. By participating in any coaching program offered by Beyond Threshold Running, you fully and voluntarily assume all such risks. You agree that Derek Klein and Beyond Threshold Running are not liable for any injury, illness, adverse health outcome, or financial loss arising from your participation.
By enrolling in coaching, you represent and warrant that: (a) you are in good physical health and have no known medical condition that would make endurance training unsafe; (b) you have consulted with a physician if you have any health concerns; and (c) you understand that coaching guidance does not replace the advice of a licensed medical or fitness professional.
Beyond Threshold Running makes no guarantee of specific athletic results, race times, or performance outcomes. Coaching is provided on a best-effort basis and results depend on individual factors including but not limited to consistency, health, genetics, lifestyle, and race conditions.
All training plans, programming structures, coaching materials, and content created and delivered by Beyond Threshold Running are the sole intellectual property of Derek Klein. These materials are licensed to you for personal use only and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, resold, or shared without prior written permission.
Subscription billing, cancellation rights, and refund policies are governed exclusively by the TeamRunRun platform. Please refer to TeamRunRun's terms for all subscription management and cancellation procedures.
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute not resolved through TeamRunRun's platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Minnesota.
